Overview

Abriff is a pressurised metered-dose inhaler containing the fixed-dose combination of fluticasone propionate and formoterol fumarate dihydrate for regular maintenance treatment of asthma when an inhaled corticosteroid plus a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist is appropriate. Fluticasone propionate is an inhaled glucocorticoid that suppresses airway inflammation, while formoterol is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle to improve airflow. Abriff is marketed by Mundipharma; the Italian product information lists pressurised inhalation-suspension strengths of 125 micrograms/5 micrograms and 250 micrograms/10 micrograms per actuation.
