Overview
KRP-108 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of the inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) fluticasone propionate and the long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) formoterol fumarate. Developed by Kyorin Pharmaceutical in Japan under license from Mundipharma, it is marketed as Flutiform. The drug is administered via a pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) for the maintenance treatment of asthma. Fluticasone propionate reduces airway inflammation by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, while formoterol fumarate provides rapid and sustained bronchodilation by stimulating beta-2 adrenoceptors in the airway smooth muscle.
