fluticasone propionate nasal spray

Fluticasone propionate nasal spray is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid administered intranasally to treat symptoms of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itching, and watery eyes. It works by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages through inhibition of multiple types of inflammatory cells and mediators. The drug is also used for chronic rhinosinusitis and can be prescribed for both adults and children (with age restrictions depending on the brand). Fluticasone may slow growth in children with long-term use and carries risks such as increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma/cataracts), local irritation or ulceration in the nose, systemic steroid effects at high doses or prolonged use, and rare but serious allergic reactions[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
