Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flutjet is a topical corticosteroid formulation containing fluticasone propionate at a concentration of 0.005%, marketed by Ardent Life Sciences. It functions as a potent agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor, providing anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive activities. The medication is primarily used for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, such as eczema, psoriasis, and various forms of dermatitis. By binding to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, fluticasone propionate translocates to the nucleus where it modulates gene expression, leading to the induction of anti-inflammatory proteins (like lipocortins) and the inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
