FM-TP3000 is a long-acting injectable nanoparticle suspension of triamcinolone pentanoate, a synthetic corticosteroid, being developed by Formosa Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of ocular inflammatory conditions, primarily non-infectious uveitis. The drug utilizes Formosa's proprietary Activ-Polymer Nanoparticle Technology (APNT) to achieve a uniform and stable nanoparticle formulation, which allows for sustained release of the active ingredient within the eye. As a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, triamcinolone pentanoate exerts potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting the production of various inflammatory cytokines and enzymes. This localized, long-acting delivery system is designed to improve patient compliance and therapeutic outcomes by reducing the frequency of intravitreal injections and minimizing systemic side effects associated with oral steroids.
