Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FMX101 vehicle is a topical, hydrophobic oil-based foam formulation developed by Vyne Therapeutics. It serves as the placebo control for FMX101 (marketed as AMZEEQ), which is a 4% minocycline topical foam indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris. The vehicle contains all the inactive ingredients of the active product but lacks the active pharmaceutical ingredient, minocycline. In clinical development, the vehicle has been used in randomized, double-blind trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the active drug, as well as in specific bilateral comparison studies to assess the safety and tolerability of the foam delivery system itself against other topical bases like hydro-alcohol solutions.
