Overview
FNG is a topical probiotic skincare product developed by the Belgian company YUN for the management of foot and skin fungal infections, including athlete's foot. The formulation contains a proprietary blend of three live Lactobacillus strains: Lactiplantibacillus pentosus YUN-V1.0, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum YUN-V2.0, and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus YUN-S1.0. These beneficial bacteria are delivered via a patented micro-encapsulation technology that protects the live cultures and ensures their activation upon contact with the skin. The product works through "probiotherapy," a mechanism that restores the natural balance of the skin microbiome, thereby outcompeting pathogenic fungi and strengthening the skin's biological barrier. Although marketed as a cosmetic product, it was developed through extensive research at the University of Antwerp and has demonstrated efficacy in dermatological evaluations.
