FNS007 is a novel immunosuppressant and HLA-DR blocker developed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is a non-T cell receptor (TCR) contacting peptide, derived from Collagen II, designed to modulate immune responses by blocking HLA-DR-mediated antigen presentation. Preclinical studies in murine models demonstrated that FNS007 reduces inflammation and bone damage associated with collagen-induced arthritis[4][8]. In clinical trials, it has shown dose-dependent efficacy in improving ACR20/50 response rates and inducing remission in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who had inadequate responses to conventional synthetic DMARDs. The drug appears to work by eliminating effector T cells (Teff) and increasing TGF-β levels, thereby promoting immune tolerance[2][6]. Safety data indicate good tolerability without serious adverse events[2].
