The folate receptor alpha (FRα) peptide vaccine + GM-CSF is an investigational cancer immunotherapy composed of a multi-epitope peptide vaccine targeting the folate receptor alpha (FRα), which is highly overexpressed in several epithelial cancers such as ovarian and breast cancer. The vaccine consists of five immunogenic peptides derived from FRα and is administered with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) as an adjuvant to enhance immune response. The mechanism of action involves stimulating CD4+ T cell-mediated immunity against tumor cells expressing FRα, potentially overcoming tumor-induced immunosuppression. This combination has been evaluated in phase II clinical trials for consolidation therapy after standard treatment in patients with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma and triple-negative breast cancer[1][2][5].
