It was evaluated in the 'Vitamins in Psychosis (VIP) Study' at the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) in Australia. While the combination effectively reduced homocysteine, clinical trials showed no significant improvement in overall psychotic symptoms or composite neurocognition, though secondary analyses suggested potential benefits in attention and vigilance for specific patient subgroups, such as those with high baseline homocysteine or affective psychosis.
