Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Folidoce is an oral vitamin supplement combination containing 400 micrograms of folic acid and 2 micrograms of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin). It is primarily used as an antianemic preparation and for the prevention of neural tube defects in women planning pregnancy or during the first trimester of pregnancy. Folic acid is essential for DNA synthesis and cell division, while vitamin B12 acts as a cofactor for methionine synthase, which is critical for the regeneration of tetrahydrofolate. The product is marketed in Turkey by ITF İlaç Sanayi ve Ticaret, a subsidiary of Italfarmaco SpA.
