Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Folivane Plus is a prescription multivitamin and iron supplement developed by Trigen Laboratories. It is indicated for improving the nutritional status of adults with vitamin deficiencies or iron deficiency anemia resulting from various medical conditions. The formulation includes a combination of essential B-vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, biotin, and pantothenic acid), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and two forms of iron: ferrous fumarate and a polysaccharide iron complex. This dual-source iron approach is intended to enhance absorption and minimize gastrointestinal side effects while supporting red blood cell production. It is dispensed as oral capsules and is contraindicated in patients with iron overload syndromes such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis.
