Overview

Trophogen's follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) superagonist is a recombinant human FSH (rhFSH) analog designed with enhanced potency and a prolonged half-life compared to conventional rhFSH. Developed using a proprietary superagonist hormone technology platform originally licensed from the NIH, the molecule acts as a potent agonist at the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR). It is primarily being developed for the treatment of human infertility and for use in assisted reproductive technologies, such as egg banking, by promoting controlled ovarian stimulation. While the human therapeutic program is in preclinical development, a related bovine FSH superagonist has been licensed to Zoetis for veterinary use in cattle superovulation.
