This is an autologous biological intervention involving the use of follicular fluid (FF) to improve outcomes in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. Developed by Dr. Nawara Mohamed Hashish at Cairo University's Kasr El-Aini IVF center, the procedure involves flushing the endometrial cavity with 2ml of the patient's own clear follicular fluid immediately after ovum pick-up. The rationale is to mimic natural conception, where the fallopian tube picks up FF along with the oocyte, a step typically bypassed in ICSI procedures. The follicular fluid contains bioactive factors such as stem cell factor (SCF), C-Kit receptor, insulin-like growth factor (IGF), and transforming growth factor (TGF), which are believed to enhance endometrial receptivity and promote successful embryo implantation.
