Folrex

Folrex is a topical cream developed by Catalysis SL that utilizes a proprietary "Molecular Activation" technology to enhance the biological activity of its components, primarily folic acid and salicylic acid. The activation process is claimed to significantly increase the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of these molecules. While Folrex has been traditionally marketed for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia, it is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for a novel indication: improving upper extremity motor recovery in patients following an acute stroke. In this context, the cream is applied to the paretic limb during rehabilitation to reduce localized inflammation and oxidative stress, which is hypothesized to facilitate neuroplasticity and enhance the effectiveness of physical therapy.
