Overview

Foralumab is a fully human anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody designed to modulate the immune system by targeting the CD3 epsilon subunit of the T cell receptor complex on T cells. By binding to CD3, foralumab reduces effector T-cell activity and increases regulatory T-cell populations, thereby dampening inflammation and promoting immune tolerance. This mechanism is being explored as a treatment for autoimmune, inflammatory, and neurodegenerative diseases. Foralumab has been developed in intravenous, oral (enteric-coated capsule), and intranasal formulations. The intranasal formulation is currently under investigation in phase 2 clinical trials for non-active secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (na-SPMS) and Alzheimer's disease. The drug was originally developed by NovImmune SA (now Light Chain Bioscience) and later licensed to Tiziana Life Sciences[2][7][9].
