Overview

Foroxymithine is a novel, physiologically active substance that has been studied for its antihypertensive properties. In preclinical studies, oral administration of foroxymithine dihydrate effectively reduced blood pressure in spontaneous hypertensive rats. Acute toxicity tests in mice showed low toxicity, with high intravenous doses not causing mortality. Purification of foroxymithine can be achieved through reversed-phase HPLC, and its use as an antihypertensive agent is supported by preclinical efficacy data, although there is no evidence of clinical approval or human development status[4].
