FORX-004 is a first-in-class small molecule research compound being developed by FoRx Therapeutics. It targets a specific, undisclosed protein that plays a critical role in resolving DNA replication stress-induced fork collapse. This mechanism is part of the company's broader focus on developing cancer therapeutics that target DNA replication stress (DRS) pathways, such as Break Induced Replication (BIR), which are frequently exploited by cancer cells to maintain genome stability. By inhibiting these resolution pathways, FORX-004 is designed to induce synthetic lethality in tumors characterized by high levels of replication stress. The drug is currently in the hit identification and validation stage of development.
