Overview

QLS-101 is a novel prodrug of levcromakalim, an adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-sensitive potassium (KATP) channel modulator. It works by lowering episcleral venous pressure (EVP) and increasing aqueous humor outflow through vessels distal to the trabecular meshwork, which reduces intraocular pressure (IOP). This unique mechanism of action differentiates it from other glaucoma treatments, as it specifically targets EVP, a key determinant of IOP. Developed by Qlaris Bio, it is administered as a topical eyedrop for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
