Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fosrolapitant (HRS5580) is a prodrug of rolapitant being developed by Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical. It functions as a neurokinin 1 receptor (NK-1R) antagonist that prevents postoperative nausea and vomiting. The drug features a long half-life and high central nervous system permeability, making it particularly suitable for patients with prolonged postoperative vomiting. Once administered, HRS5580 is rapidly converted into rolapitant through non-CYP450 enzyme systems like thiol methyltransferase.
