Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fostera Gold PCV is a **veterinary inactivated vaccine** developed by Zoetis for active immunization of healthy pigs against disease associated with **porcine circovirus type 2**. It contains killed PCV2 antigens representing **PCV2a and PCV2b** genotypes and is formulated with the **MetaStim** adjuvant to stimulate both cell-mediated and humoral immune responses. The product is used in swine to reduce PCV2 viremia, fecal viral shedding, lymphoid colonization, and lymphoid depletion, and has been described as providing a **23-week duration of immunity**. It is administered by **intramuscular injection** either as a single 2 mL dose in pigs 3 weeks of age or older or as two 1 mL doses given 3 weeks apart beginning at 3 days of age or older.
