FOXM1 peptide refers to a therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of specific amino acid sequences derived from the Forkhead Box M1 (FOXM1) transcription factor. FOXM1 is a well-known oncogene that is significantly overexpressed in a variety of human malignancies, including esophageal, bladder, lung, and pancreatic cancers, while remaining nearly absent in most normal adult tissues. The vaccine typically utilizes HLA-restricted epitopes, such as FOXM1-262 and FOXM1-638, which are designed to be presented by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) molecules (most commonly HLA-A*24:02 or HLA-A*02:01) on the surface of cells. This presentation stimulates the immune system to generate FOXM1-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that recognize and eliminate tumor cells expressing the FOXM1 protein. Developed primarily by OncoTherapy Science, these peptides are often administered in combination with other tumor-associated antigen peptides to broaden the anti-tumor immune response.
