FoxM1 siRNA is a research-stage small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the FOXM1 (Forkhead Box M1) gene. FOXM1 is an oncogenic transcription factor that is frequently overexpressed in various human cancers, where it regulates the expression of genes involved in cell cycle progression (G1/S and G2/M transitions), cell proliferation, and tumorigenesis. By degrading FOXM1 mRNA, the siRNA prevents the translation of the FOXM1 protein, leading to reduced levels of downstream targets such as cdc25B, Aurora B Kinase, and Skp2. In preclinical models, including breast and ovarian cancer xenografts, FoxM1 siRNA has demonstrated the ability to inhibit tumor growth, induce apoptosis, and reduce cell migration and invasion. It is primarily utilized as a research tool and experimental therapeutic candidate.
