Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FP-01.1 + TIV is a combination vaccine candidate consisting of Flunisyn (FP-01.1) and a standard Trivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine (TIV). FP-01.1 is a synthetic peptide-based vaccine comprising six fluorocarbon-modified 35-mer peptides that target conserved internal proteins of the influenza A virus. It is designed to induce broad CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell mediated immunity across various influenza A strains, including seasonal and pandemic variants. TIV provides the standard antibody-mediated (humoral) response against specific seasonal strains. The combination was evaluated in elderly populations (65-74 years) to assess whether the addition of a T-cell inducing vaccine could enhance protection without negatively impacting the antibody response of the seasonal vaccine. The study also explored the use of an additional adjuvant with the FP-01.1 component.
