Overview

FP-01.1 + trivalent influenza vaccine is a combination of two distinct influenza vaccine approaches. FP-01.1 is a novel synthetic peptide-based universal influenza A vaccine candidate composed of six fluorocarbon-modified 35-mer peptides that encapsulate multiple conserved CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell epitopes from the nucleoprotein (NP), matrix protein (M), and polymerase proteins (PB1, PB2) of the virus[1][2][4]. The fluorocarbon modification enhances immunogenicity by increasing peptide stability and prolonging exposure to the immune system, leading to robust T cell responses across diverse HLA types[2]. It is designed to induce broad cellular immunity against various influenza A strains[1][2][4]. The trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV) is a standard inactivated split-virus or subunit vaccine containing antigens from three seasonal influenza virus strains—typically two type A subtypes (H1N1, H3N2) and one type B lineage—used for active immunization against seasonal flu[5][7][8]. This combination aims to provide both broad cellular immunity via FP-01.1 and strain-specific antibody-mediated protection via TIV.
