**FP-5677** is a small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme **17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1 (HSD17B1)**, developed by **Forendo Pharma** for the treatment of **endometriosis**. HSD17B1 catalyzes the final step in the formation of active estradiol in target tissues, and its inhibition aims to locally suppress estrogen production in endometriotic lesions without systemic hypoestrogenic effects. It represents a novel targeted approach with potential to be the first specific therapy for this condition.
