Overview

FR260500 is a small molecule research compound developed by Fujisawa (now Astellas) for the topical treatment of mild to moderate facial acne vulgaris. Chemically, it is a phosphoric acid diester of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and tocopherol (Vitamin E), designed to provide the combined antioxidant benefits of both vitamins in a stable, single-molecule delivery system. The compound targets oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in the skin, which are key factors in the pathogenesis of acne and sebaceous gland overactivity. It was investigated in Phase II clinical trials as a 1% topical gel formulation.
