Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Fraxiparine + Fraxodi** refers to the combination of standard Fraxiparine (nadroparin calcium 9,500 anti-Xa IU/mL) and Fraxodi (or Fraxiparine Forte, nadroparin calcium double strength 19,000 anti-Xa IU/mL), both low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) formulations used interchangeably for higher dosing needs in antithrombotic therapy. Nadroparin binds to antithrombin III (ATIII), accelerating inhibition of factor Xa and contributing to high antithrombotic potential, with additional mechanisms including stimulation of tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI). Developed by Sanofi-Synthelabo (now Sanofi), it is primarily indicated for prevention of venous thromboembolism in surgical patients (general, orthopaedic), treatment of thromboembolic disorders, deep vein thrombosis, prevention of clotting during haemodialysis, and treatment of unstable angina/non-Q wave myocardial infarction (often with aspirin).
