Overview

FREESINUS is a fixed-dose combination medication marketed by JoY Pharma, primarily indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with sinusitis, the common cold, and upper respiratory tract conditions. It combines three active pharmaceutical ingredients: nimesulide, phenylephrine, and cetirizine. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that preferentially inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), providing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Phenylephrine acts as a decongestant by stimulating alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, leading to vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa. Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that selectively antagonizes H1 receptors, reducing allergic symptoms such as rhinorrhea and sneezing.
