Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A freeze-dried, encapsulated formulation of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) developed by Jinling Hospital, China, specifically for treating relapsing Clostridium difficile infection (RCDI). This product is being investigated as a less invasive and more convenient alternative to traditional FMT administration methods, such as colonoscopy or nasojejunal tube. [6] The underlying principle is to restore a healthy gut microbial balance, which in turn suppresses the pathogenic C. difficile, thereby resolving the infection. [4, 5]
