Overview
Frekavit fat-soluble (also known as FrekaVit fettlöslich) is an intravenous lipid emulsion containing a combination of essential fat-soluble vitamins, including retinol palmitate (vitamin A), ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), DL-alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), and phytomenadione (vitamin K1). Developed and manufactured by Fresenius Kabi, it is indicated for the prevention and treatment of fat-soluble vitamin deficiencies in patients receiving parenteral nutrition. In clinical research, Frekavit fat-soluble has been evaluated as part of a supportive parenteral nutrition regimen in the PANUSCO trial, a randomized Phase IIIb study conducted by the University of Heidelberg, which compared parenteral nutrition plus chemotherapy versus best supportive nutritional care in patients with advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
