Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**French lyophilized plasma** is a pathogen-reduced, leukocyte-depleted, pooled human plasma product manufactured by the French Military Blood Institute. It is supplied as freeze-dried plasma for rapid reconstitution and intravenous transfusion in severe bleeding emergencies. The product replaces depleted or consumed plasma coagulation proteins, including fibrinogen and other clotting factors, to support hemostasis and correct trauma-induced coagulopathy during hemorrhagic shock. Its room-temperature storage, universal compatibility, and rapid reconstitution make it particularly suitable for military, austere, and prehospital trauma care. French lyophilized plasma has been studied in Phase 3 trauma trials including TRAUCC and PREHO-PLYO. ([jthjournal.org](https://www.jthjournal.org/article/S1538-7836%2822%2902641-1/fulltext))
