fresolimumab

Fresolimumab is a fully human, recombinant monoclonal antibody that acts as an immunomodulator by binding to and neutralizing all three isoforms of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β1, TGF-β2, and TGF-β3). TGF-β is a cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases and cancer. By inhibiting TGF-β signaling, fresolimumab aims to reduce fibrosis and tumor progression. It has been investigated for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), various cancers including kidney cancer and melanoma, malignant pleural mesothelioma, metastatic breast cancer, primary brain tumors, and osteogenesis imperfecta[1][2][3][5][7].
