Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fried grain sprouts are a traditional Chinese medicinal material made by stir-frying the sprouted grains of cereals such as rice or wheat. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), they are used as a decoction piece and commonly included in compound herbal prescriptions. Fried grain sprouts are believed to aid digestion, strengthen the spleen and stomach, relieve food stagnation, and treat symptoms such as diarrhea and indigestion—especially in pediatric populations[2][3]. They may also be used for fever of unknown origin[1]. The mechanism of action is not defined by modern pharmacology but is based on TCM theory; their effects are attributed to enzymatic changes during germination and further transformation through frying.
