Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fructus rubi (覆盆子), also known as Fu Pen Zi or Chinese Raspberry Fruit, is the dried immature fruit of certain Rubus species (notably Rubus chingii and related species) in the Rosaceae family. It is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb primarily used to tonify and stabilize kidney function and secure essence. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is believed to benefit the kidneys and liver, improve reproductive health (including impotence and spermatorrhea), reduce excessive urination/enuresis, nourish vision/eyesight by supporting liver function, and support digestion. The main active constituents include organic acids, sugars, vitamin A derivatives (retinoids), phenolic compounds and flavonoids with antioxidant properties. Pharmacological studies suggest potential anti-tumor, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities[5][6][8]. It is typically administered orally as a decoction or granule.
