FSH-28ζ CER T cells are an experimental cell-based immunotherapy utilizing Chimeric Endocrine Receptor (CER) technology. These T cells are genetically engineered to express the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) ligand, which allows them to specifically target and bind to the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) expressed on the surface of ovarian cancer cells, particularly epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The construct incorporates a CD28ζ co-stimulatory domain (comprising CD28 and CD3ζ signaling components) to enhance T-cell activation, proliferation, and cytotoxic activity upon target engagement. In preclinical studies, this specific configuration demonstrated superior efficacy, including enhanced cytokine secretion and reduced tumor burden, compared to other co-stimulatory variants like 4-1BB.
