Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**FT-005** is an investigational **synthetic small peptide** being developed by **Hofseth BioCare** through its subsidiary **HBC Immunology** for **prostate cancer**, particularly advanced or treatment-resistant disease. Preclinical studies describe FT-005 as an **FTH1-modulatory peptide** that is intended to **upregulate ferritin heavy chain 1 and downregulate transferrin receptor expression**, thereby shifting tumor iron handling toward iron sequestration and reduced iron uptake. In xenograft and in vitro prostate cancer models, FT-005 has been studied mainly in combination with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors such as **enzalutamide** and **bicalutamide** to enhance antitumor activity and potentially delay hormonal therapy resistance.
