Overview

FT1 is a long-acting, PEGylated Glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) analog being developed by Chongqing Peg-Bio Biopharm. As a GLP-2 receptor agonist, it exhibits intestinotrophic effects, promoting the growth and maintenance of the intestinal mucosal lining, enhancing nutrient absorption, and improving intestinal barrier function. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of drug-induced diarrhea, such as chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID), where it aims to mitigate damage to the gastrointestinal tract caused by cytotoxic agents. The PEGylation technology used in its development is designed to extend the half-life of the peptide, allowing for less frequent dosing compared to native GLP-2 or shorter-acting analogs.
