Overview

**FT536 + avelumab** is an investigational combination immunotherapy for advanced or metastatic solid tumors. FT536 is an off-the-shelf, allogeneic, multi-specific, genetically engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy with enhanced targeting and cytotoxic capabilities. Avelumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), leading to inhibition of PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint and facilitating anti-tumor immune response. This combination is being studied primarily in patients whose tumors express PD-L1. The primary developer for FT536 is Fate Therapeutics; avelumab is developed and manufactured by Merck KGaA and Pfizer. The main indications under study include head and neck cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer, gastroesophageal cancer, and breast cancer[1][2][3].
