Overview

FT536 + nivolumab is an investigational combination therapy being studied for the treatment of advanced or metastatic solid tumors with documented PD-L1 expression. FT536 is an engineered, off-the-shelf natural killer (NK) cell therapy derived from proprietary induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) developed to enhance antitumor activity by combining several genetic modifications that boost NK cell cytotoxicity, persistence, and resistance to immunosuppression. Nivolumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting programmed death-1 (PD-1), acting as a checkpoint inhibitor to restore T cell activity against cancer cells. The combination aims to increase immune-mediated tumor killing through synergistic mechanisms involving both NK and T cell compartments. The primary developer for FT536 is Fate Therapeutics; nivolumab (Opdivo) is developed by Bristol Myers Squibb. The combination is currently in early clinical trials (Phase 1) for multiple advanced solid tumor indications[1][2].
