Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FT819 + interleukin-2 is an investigational combination therapy consisting of FT819, an off-the-shelf allogeneic CAR T-cell therapy, administered together with interleukin-2 (IL-2) to enhance T-cell function. FT819 is derived from a renewable master induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line and engineered to uniformly express a novel CAR targeting CD19, a protein found on malignant B-cells, with knockout of the endogenous T-cell receptor (TCR) to minimize graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). IL-2 is a recombinant cytokine that promotes T-cell proliferation, survival, and function. The combination aims to improve anti-tumor activity and persistence of CAR T-cells in relapsed/refractory B-cell malignancies such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL)[1][2][5].
