FT873 is an investigational, off-the-shelf, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived CAR-T cell therapy developed by Fate Therapeutics. It is engineered to target CD276 (also known as B7-H3), an immune checkpoint protein that is frequently overexpressed in a wide range of solid tumors. FT873 incorporates several of Fate's proprietary synthetic biology features, including a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) for direct tumor targeting, a high-affinity non-cleavable CD16a (hnCD16) receptor to enhance antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) when used in combination with monoclonal antibodies, and an IL-7 receptor fusion (IL-7RF) to provide autonomous cytokine signaling for improved cell survival and metabolic fitness. The program is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of advanced solid malignancies.
