Overview

FTR-101 is an investigational intranasal formulation of racemic ketamine, which consists of a 50:50 mixture of the R- and S-enantiomers. Developed by Frontier Pharma, a subsidiary of MMB Healthcare, in collaboration with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, FTR-101 is designed as a non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. The drug is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). By targeting the NMDA receptor, FTR-101 aims to modulate glutamatergic neurotransmission and provide rapid improvement in core PTSD symptoms, potentially addressing an unmet need for fast-acting psychiatric interventions.
