Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fu-Fang-Qi-Di-Hua-Yu-Tang (FFQD) is a multi-component traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation. It has been studied primarily for its effects on diabetic macrovascular disease, with demonstrated actions in reducing atherosclerosis, improving insulin resistance, and regulating glucose and lipid metabolism in preclinical models. FFQD acts by modulating multiple targets and pathways, notably inhibiting inflammation (reducing TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-1beta, CRP, MCP-1), oxidative stress, and autophagy, while regulating macrophage polarization and activating the PI3K/AKT pathway both in vascular tissue and liver. It also positively influences the RAGE/PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in vessels and the RAP1/PI3K/AKT/FOX01 pathway in the liver, collectively leading to improved vascular and metabolic outcomes in type 2 diabetes models. FFQD comprises at least 159 identified phytochemical components[2][1][6].
