Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fu Shan Yin Huo Fang (傅山引火方), also known as Yin Huo Tang, is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originating from the works of the Qing Dynasty physician Fu Shan. The formulation is specifically designed to treat 'floating fire' (xu huo) resulting from Kidney Yin deficiency, a condition where internal heat rises due to a lack of grounding essence. The granule formulation (Fu Shan Yin Huo Fang Keli) provides a standardized, modern delivery of the traditional decoction. Its primary ingredients include Rehmannia glutinosa (Shu Di Huang), Cornus officinalis (Shan Zhu Yu), Ophiopogon japonicus (Mai Dong), Schisandra chinensis (Wu Wei Zi), and a small amount of Cinnamomum cassia (Rou Gui). The inclusion of Cinnamomum cassia is a key 'leading' strategy (Yin Huo Gui Yuan) to guide the floating heat back to the lower dantian. It is clinically utilized in China for recurrent aphthous stomatitis, chronic pharyngitis, and menopausal syndrome characterized by upper-body heat and lower-body cold.
