Fu-Su Mixture

Fu-Su Mixture (also known as Fusu Mixture or Fusu heji) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound preparation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is derived from the ancient prescription 'Qian-yang-dan' (recorded in the Qing dynasty monograph *Yilizhenchuan*) and is formulated using six herbal medicines: *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi), *Carapax Testudinis* (Gui ban), *Amomi Fructus* (Sha ren), *Ephedra sinica* (Ma huang), *Rhizoma zingiberis* (Gan jiang), and *Radix glycyrrhizae* (Gan cao). Fu-Su Mixture is primarily developed for the treatment of sepsis, septic shock, and sepsis-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). It is hypothesized to exert therapeutic effects by alleviating inflammatory reactions, reducing pulmonary capillary leakage, protecting endothelial cells, and promoting the proliferation of alveolar epithelial cells, potentially through the regulation of surfactant-associated protein C (SP-C), aquaporin 5 (AQP-5), and the Notch1 signaling pathway.
