FucoSkin is a branded cosmetic and skin health ingredient developed by Hi-Q Marine Biotech International. It is a naturally-derived marine bioactive compound consisting of a fucoidan-polysaccharide extract obtained from the brown algae *Laminaria japonica* (also known as *Saccharina japonica*) via aqueous extraction. FucoSkin functions primarily as an anti-aging and anti-wrinkle agent by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are enzymes responsible for collagen degradation in the skin. It specifically targets UVB-induced MMP expression to preserve dermal collagen structure and improve skin elasticity. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in improving skin smoothness, reducing wrinkles and pores, and mitigating spot pigmentation.
