**Fucosyl GM1-KLH** is an investigational synthetic carbohydrate cancer vaccine developed for **small-cell lung cancer**. It consists of synthetic fucosyl GM1 ganglioside covalently conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin, a carrier protein used to enhance immunogenicity, and was administered with the saponin adjuvant QS-21. The vaccine is intended to induce antibodies against fucosyl GM1, a ganglioside expressed abundantly on many small-cell lung cancer cells. In the reported dose-ranging study after initial chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy, the 10 microgram and 30 microgram vaccine doses induced predominantly IgM responses, with post-vaccination sera recognizing fucosyl GM1-positive tumor cells and mediating complement-dependent cytotoxicity.
