Fufang Biejia Ruangan

Fufang Biejia Ruangan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formulation approved in China for the treatment of liver fibrosis and chronic hepatitis B-related cirrhosis. It consists of multiple herbal ingredients including Carapax Trionycis (turtle shell), Rhizoma Atractylodis, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Angelica sinensis (Dong Quai), Radix Ginseng (Ginseng root), Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus membranaceus (Huang Qi), Placenta Hominis (human placenta), Ophiocordyceps sinensis (Cordyceps mushroom), Radix Isatidis, Forsythia suspensa and others. The mechanism of action is believed to involve blocking hepatic fibrosis at early stages by inhibiting proliferation of hepatic stellate cells and reducing collagen synthesis and deposition in the liver. It may also promote dissolution and absorption of established fibrotic tissue. Clinical studies have shown that it improves liver function markers such as ALT/AST/TBIL/ALB and reduces serum markers associated with fibrosis without serious adverse effects[1][3][6]. It is often used as an adjunct to standard antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis B or other causes of liver fibrosis[2][3]. The product has passed Good Clinical Practice certification by the Chinese Food and Drug Administration.
