Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fu Fang Danshen Tablet (FDT) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal compound formulation that has been clinically utilized for over 40 years, primarily in China, for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The formulation consists of three main ingredients: *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Panax notoginseng* (Notoginseng), and synthetic borneol. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to bioactive compounds such as salvianolic acids and phenolic acids, which provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antithrombotic benefits. FDT is currently being investigated in Phase 4 clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy in improving cardiac function in patients with acute myocardial infarction following emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It is also used to manage angina pectoris, coronary heart disease, and atherosclerosis by modulating pathways related to oxidative stress, cell apoptosis (targeting Bcl-2, Bax, and caspase 3), and immune regulation.
